Open Letter to Alex Tew, Pixelotto

By mininews

Alex, selling your website as ad space was novelty because we usually don’t do this. People announced you a genius, not knowing you actually did not invent anything: you simply reused the primitive theme of monetizing images you lived with for many years. Until it suddenly appeared suitable in MDH context.

How I know this? From you: “At age 8, he says, he was drawing up comic books and selling them to friends, and he sees what he’s doing now as simply an extension of that.”
I, for example, in kindergarden preferred to give away my pics for free.

You can disprove the conclusion.
Just answer, is it the only idea you have?

The person who sings once a year cannot be called a singer.
Ukrainian boxer Klychko defends his champion title every several months.
Alex, you should show the world your other genius ideas! Otherwise, you will be known only as a lucky winner of the Internet lottery, not new trend developer!

From my poor Ukraine your current situation looks weird.
I spent years to get education, then years to get a job in the UK or US (I got signed job contracts after all, but embassy simply rejected me in a visa). With your UK passport you may work anywhere you want, but instead boast(!) with declining super attractive world’s job offers!
You say: “I don’t think I will be running this company for 25 years. I always want to do new things”. That’s the key difference between us.
Being a citizen of developed country almost automatically means that even if ALL your web projects fail, you can AFFORD to keep trying again and again!
If you are not lazy, of course.

In contrast, I created Mini-News.com on my LAST cash!
And it can be the LAST project in my LIFE!

The principle “The more people talk about it, the more money you made” works for almost any web project and hardly is your novelty. Besides, the inertia of the MDH popularity is currently supported mostly by the people who try to create similar things, – not by you! I haven’t seen you at any related forum. And haven’t heard of people who got response to their emails sent to you.

For the sum of 1$M, what you are actually doing is updating MDH blog (pixelotto.com has no blog at all) once in several months, – this type of business looks quite decent for a person who was born in UK.

Even the notion of failure for us is different: pixelotto already raised $146,100. I’m surprised that with all your influential links it hasn’t made a million at the first week – press loves you!

Nevertheless, let me give you a free piece of advice:
If you’re really smart, you should find a smart way to stop the pixelotto!
For example, with promising your current partners some bonuses if they join your next, – I hope a really great!, – project. Why?

The “Internet as Pixelotto” discourages web developers to be creative.
My first impressions from Pixelotto are at my Mini-billion.blogspot.com.

Alex, you are not the first who advises people to think bigger. I live in the country where were invented such BILLION dollar scam schemes as MMM pyramids.

But the key word here is “honesty“.
There are many easy ways for making money by fooling advertisers with generating a bubble of useless clicks. Let me remind you how it all began.

The person who is not capable to study – in your own words, “I’m not good at studying… I have a short attention span”, – asks the world to sponsor his University bills!

To become what it is now, MDH had a lucky mixture of the following three elements:
1) personal story
2) new technology
3) mass media support.
(At this stage, Mini-News.com has the first two ones).

Now quick test:
Would MDH be a hit of the 2005 without pathetic story of a boy who wished to get a life salary of a graduate professional in developed country?
(Now it’s safe to add, – WITHOUT becoming a graduate professional).
Most likely, no!

In contrast, all I want for myself at my age of 42(!) is to have my FIRST car, my FIRST house, and my FIRST family! But more important, the Mini-News.com live news billboard is a novelty even without my story.
So what? Unlike you, I don’t have money for ANY promotion!

Media highlighted website of the poor Brit. student who had only(!) $1,000+ for promo (it turned to be only $50,000 at later stages). As for me, after sending HUNDREDS free emails to mass media (see PRESS), I seriously doubt they can publish something only because it’s interesting.

* * *

Today is my birthday. I’ve got no presents, but it’s OK, – I had much worse birthdays.
Obviously, I don’t expect a present from you. The only gift I can afford today is $7 for launching

eBay auction for the first Mini-News.com iFrame:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110076764101

Do you remember the joke:
“Why not trade on eBay my PCs RAM memory, – I’ve got plenty of it!” You may laugh, but that’s exactly where marketing idea for my newest website came from.

You boast with your originality for selling image ads measured in pixels. Even with the obvious limitations, – they are images only, and they may not be updated, – you sold them for more than million dollars.

Let me introduce a better idea: Live IFRAME ads measured in bytes!
I’m selling the right to display a 3Kb HTML page located at external websites in iframes of Mini-News.com!
LIVE pieces of websites on my website.

Please, don’t consider this letter as my self-PR only. Initially I was going to write the article “Mini-News vs. MDH/Pixelotto”, but my project is not your copycat, and we are not competitors!

I’m far from saying my Mini-News.com is the best. Internet if full of genious ideas created by geniuos people.
What I’m saying is, the vector of the Mini-News.com development is BETTER:
- reading vs. clicking
- information vs. ads
- billion vs. million

Marketing value of the newest IFRAME Ads industry is almost UNLIMITED!
You are welcome to join my Mini-News project!

Merry Christmas!
